New !!! Black Grand (V-68042) is a dessert variety bred in the USA. It is a composite hybrid (Festive x Ilinois). Black Grand is a medium early variety 125-135 days, with very strong growth and good woodiness. It is suitable for planting arbours, fences and walls. Clusters large to very large 800 -1000 grams and even up to 2.5kg, conical, loose, medium compact. Berries large 18 -20g (38x32mm) slightly oval or globular, dark blue. Berries show no tendency to burst. Flesh fleshy juicy with a harmonised flavour, very tasty with a slight muscat flavour. Sugar content 16-18% with an acidity of 6-7g/l. High yield 80-85%. Disease resistance high with frost resistance to - 26°C. Fruit tolerates transport and storage well. The variety is suitable for commercial and amateur cultivation. Grafted vines of ‘Black Grand’ are of the best quality.
