New!!! Tangra is a dessert, seedless ( class III) variety bred in Bulgaria / Ruka. It is a composite hybrid (Bolgar x Alphonso Lawalle) with an average late ripening time of 130 - 135 days. Tangra is a self-pollinating variety with strong growth and good woodiness. Conical clusters, large 500-800g moderately compact. Berries slightly oval, dark dark blue, large 24x20mm, 6-8g (seeds residual, soft). Berries show no tendency to burst. Flesh crisp , harmonised with fruity notes, very tasty. Sugar content high 16-18% with low acidity 5-6g/l. Disease resistance good as with more resistant Vitis Vinifera varieties - e.g. Chardonnay. Variety very attractive to the trade. High yield 75-80%. Frost resistance -20 °C. Variety tolerates transport and storage well. Suitable for both amateur and commercial cultivation. Grafted vines of ‘Tangra’ are of the best quality.
