New !!! Bananas (21-12) is a dessert variety bred by O.M. Pisanka. It is a compound hybrid (Podarok Zaporizhzhia x Veles). Bananas is a female-flowered (foreign-pollinated) but well-pollinated variety. It is a very early variety (95-100 days) with moderately strong growth and good woodiness. The grapes are very large 700 -1000 grams and larger, conical, moderately compact. The berries are very large 10-12g, ovoid resembling a banana in shape and colour, often with a single stone, with no tendency to burst. When exposed to sunlight, there is a so-called ‘tanning’ effect on the fruit. The flesh is firm, crunchy, with a very wide range of flavours and aromas (ripe apples, exotic fruits - passion fruit, banana, melon with a delicate nutmeg), very tasty. The Bananas variety is considered to be the tastiest variety grown in Ukraine. The sugar content is high 18-19% with an acidity of 5-7g/l. The yield is high (70-80%). Disease resistance is good with frost resistance to - 23°C. The fruit tolerates transport and storage well. The variety is suitable for commercial and amateur cultivation. Grafted vines of ‘Bananas’ are of the best quality.
