Modern is a dessert grape variety bred in Russia by E.G. Pavlovsky. It is an interspecific hybrid (Talizman x Gibrid 41). Modern is a self-pollinating, early variety (115-120 days). It has strong growth with good lignification. The bunches are conical, large (500-800 g), moderately compact. The berries are slightly oval, dark red, very large, weighing 10-15 g and larger, 34 x 30 mm. The fruit does not show a tendency to crack. The flesh is firm, crisp, very tasty, harmonised, with fruity notes. The sugar content is high, 17-18%, with low acidity, 6-7 g/l. Fruit set is high at 80%. Disease resistance is good with frost resistance of -23°С. The fruit tolerates transport and storage very well. The variety is suitable for amateur and commercial plantations.
