Variety selected in Austria at the Klosterneuburg Institute by Dr. G.Mayer (1970) . It is an interspecific hybrid (Zweigelt X (SV 18-402 X Lemberger)) x Chambourcin) . Variety classified as Vitis vinifera for the production of quality wines. Self-pollinating variety. Yields rather reliably and quite abundantly. Grapes medium to large (130-150g), conical, medium-compact. Berries round dark blue-black 2-3g, 14-16mm. Ripening season depending on the place of cultivation from the first decade of October to 15.10. On average, maturity for harvest at a similar time to Regent. The variety shows high resistance to fungal diseases and can withstand frosts down to - 25 ºC. Grows quite strongly and straight. Wine of fairly intense colour with aromas of blackberry fruit, cherry with spicy and herbal notes. Storage in oak barrels has a very positive effect on the quality of the wine.
