New !!! Banan ( バナナ ), (sometimes found under the name Banana Finger) is a Japanese variety of dessert grape. It is a compound hybrid ( Manicure Finger x Gold Finger ). Banana is a self-pollinating, medium-early variety, (120-125 days). Growth is strong with very good woodiness. The grapes are conical, medium compact, large and very large 1000-1500g. The berries are oblong, often slightly curved, (banana-like in shape), very large 12 - 15g, golden yellow. The flesh is fleshy juicy, crunchy, very tasty with fruity notes. The fruit can hang on the bush for a long time without losing flavour , even gaining more fruity notes. They may burst when subjected to excessive rainfall. Sugar content is very high (19-24%) with low acidity of 5-7g/l. Yield is high at 75-80%. Disease resistance is high with a frost resistance of -20°С. The fruit tolerates transport and storage well. The variety is suitable for the establishment of amateur and commercial plantations. Grapevines grafted "Banan" are of best quality.
