Jasja / Яся ( Кишмиш Яся )
New!!! Jasja (kishmish Jasja) is a dessert grape variety, included in the seedless varieties, bred in VNIIVIV Institute Novocherkassk. It is a complex hybrid ( Rusven x Ogoniok Tairovsky). The lack of seeds in the berries is due to poor pollination which results in up to 80 - 90% parthenocarpic seedless berries. Jasja is a self-pollinating variety with an early ripening season (100-110 days). The bush growth is strong, with good woodiness. The grapes are large and very large 500-1000g, cylindrical, moderately compact or loose depending on pollination. Berries large ( 4-8g), oval, dark purple (22 x 16mm). The flesh is crisp, firm, harmonised with pronounced fruity notes (plum), very tasty. Fruit resistant to cracking from excess water. Sugar content very high 19-20% and even 25%, with low acidity 6-7g/l. The variety has a very high yield of 85%. The variety reacts very positively to gibberellin preparations. Their application (similarly to new varieties bred in the USA) is followed by very high (several times) fruit enlargement and levelling. Disease resistance is very good and frost resistance is -24°С. The grapes are used for fresh consumption and for making very large and tasty sultanas. The Jasja variety has a very high commercial value, especially after treatment with gibberellin preparations. The use of these preparations results in complete seedlessness in very large (14-18 g) and tasty berries. The fruit tolerates transport and cold storage well. The variety is suitable for commercial and amateur cultivation. Grapevines grafted "Jasja" are of best quality.
