New !!! Avatar is a seedless (1st class) dessert grape variety. It is a hybrid bred from a cross between Vitis Vinifera varieties. Avatar is a variety with an average early maturation time of 120 - 125 days. Self-pollinating variety, strong growth, with good woodiness. Conical clusters medium-tight, loose, large and very large 500-1000 g. Berries dark dark blue, at full maturity almost black, cylindrical, long usually with an opening at the end of the fruit, very large : berry length 35-50mm x 20-22mm with an average weight of 7-9 (11)g. Flesh tight, crisp with harmonized, most tasty at full ripeness. Sugar content very high 18-22% with an acidity of 5-7g/l. It is characterised by a high fertility of 70 - 80%. The variety has resistance on the level of other Vitis Vinifera varieties and frost resistance of -19°C. Grapes and fruit very attractive, the fruit is not only suitable for fresh consumption but also for tasty and very large sultanas.The variety reacts badly to over-fertilisation with very strong growth (excess green matter), weaker fruiting and poor woodiness. It tolerates transport and storage well. Suitable for commercial and amateur cultivation. The grafted sapling of "Awatar" table grapes is of the highest quality.
