New !!! Sofa is a dessert variety bred by I. N. Voronyuk. It is a compound hybrid (Sofija x Arkadia). Sofa is a self-pollinating variety, early (100-110 days), with quite strong growth and good woodiness. The grapes are large to very large 800 - 1500 grams and larger, cylindrically conical, moderately compact. The berries are very large (12 -15g), oval, dark pink, light red, elongated in the shape of a baby bottle teat, nipple, with no tendency to burst. Flesh fleshy juicy with a harmonised taste, with a delicate muscat, very tasty. Sugar content very high 19-20% with an acidity of 6-7g/l. High yield 80 - 85%. The variety has very high commercial value due to its beautifully coloured fruit and exceptional flavour. Good disease resistance with frost resistance to - 24°C. Fruit tolerates transport and storage well. The variety is suitable for commercial and amateur cultivation. Grafted seedlings of the ‘Sofa’ variety are of the best quality.
